Cherami Africa Limited (CAL) a is Kenyan Company, incorporated on 6th June, 2018.
CAL is a subsidiary of Guangzhou Cherami China-Africa Investment Management Company Limited in China, a testament of a truly global world and the improving Africa-Asia relationship. CAL was formed with a view of being Afro-centric by introducing Africa’s investments to Asian opportunities.
The Holding Company; Guangzhou Cherami China-Africa Investment Management Company Limited is an integrated asset management group managing over USD 2 Billion in assets whose core business lines are: fund management; private equity; investment banking and international investment. In the latter, the priority areas are healthcare & e-health; renewable green energy solutions; agriculture; manufacturing and fintech and eCommerce. Guangzhou Cherami has tens of thousands of clients cover more than 100 industries, especially high tech and forthcoming industries in China and has over 10 offices across China and Hong Kong, with different subsidiaries covering different cities in China which include Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Foshan, Dongguang, Zhongshan, Shantou, and Jieyang.

Mr Wei Xiaolin is the Director of Cherami Group and CEO of Guangzhou Cherami China-Africa Investment Management Company Limited. Mr Wei has years of work experience in various law firms and used to be a lecturer of North Minzu University and the Dean of Law department of Nanhua Commercial and Industrial College. Afterward, he became the Director of Labor Relation’s Institute.
In 2013, Mr Wei co-founded Guangzhou Cherami Investment Management Co. Ltd (Cherami Group) and served as the Director of the Group and the President of Sun Tour Investment Management Co. Ltd which is the PE Fund Management subsidiary of Cherami Group. In 2017, he became the President and Director of Guangzhou Cherami China-Africa Investment Management Company Limited and later the President of Cherami Africa Limited in 2018. Since Cherami Africa Limited was founded, he has implemented projects in Africa such as Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone in Nigeria and Africa Economic Zone in Kenya.
Mr. Wei has a Bachelor of Law from Fudan University, Master of Economics in Sun Yat-Sen University, visiting scholar of University of Warwick. He is proficient in both Chinese and international law system, experienced in overseas investment and international business cooperation. He excels in capital operation, transaction structure design, company management, risk control and offshore trust planning.
At Cherami, Wachira is a Partner and the Chief Legal Advisor. He develops and plans the various projects of the company and advises on all legal aspects.
Wachira is a seasoned corporate leader and lawyer with over 15 years of experience. He is an expert in Capital Markets, Agribusiness, Commercialization of businesses and process, Commercial Laws and Regulations, Policy Development and Implementation, Product Development and Rollout, Strategy Development and Execution, Financial Planning and Compliance Monitoring.
He has worked under different capacities at the Nairobi Securities Exchange including Head of Compliance and Legal, Acting Chief Executive and Business Development and Commercial Director. He has also worked as the Managing Director of Kenya Planters Co-operative Union (KPCU) Limited. He has also been on various Boards as a Non-Executive Director including the Africa Stock Exchanges Association. He is a Founder Member of the Real Estate Investment Trust Association of Kenya.
He holds a Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
At Cherami, Mokaya is tasked with the following:
- Preparing, reviewing and negotiating company contracts, requests for proposals and other legal documents
- Consulting with management, commercial advisors, tax experts, accountants and marketing staff
- Negotiating and drafting contractual agreements, such as real estate leases, and advising on employment matters
- Developing the organization’s policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance or regulatory affairs
Mokaya is a Lawyer by training and practice, an alumnus of the University of Nairobi and holds a post graduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law. Mokaya has previously worked as a trainee advocate in a busy law firm, a legal officer in government regulatory body and inhouse counsel in a real estate company.
At Cherami, Bilha is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial system, preparing financial management reports, banking reconciliation and all matters finance and accounting.
Bilha is an Accountant by profession, a CPA (K) and a graduate with Bachelors of Commerce in Finance. She has financial and accounting experience, having worked in a fast-moving-consumer-goods manufacturing and distribution firm. She has also worked in an Audit and Tax Consultancy Firm.
At Cherami, Margaret is concerned with overseeing the day-to-day office operations, managing administrative and operational functions including areas related to human resource, procurement, administration and legal matters.
Margaret is a Practicing Lawyer who is passionate about matters corporate services. She has over 5 years work experience in law firms, government regulatory bodies and the Finance Sector where she was involved in various matters like regulation and compliance, legislative drafting, contract management, debt recovery, risk and audit.
Margaret holds a Bachelors of Law from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
At Cherami Mauline assists in preparation of regular reports, general office duties, provides general support to the team and the visitors and general admin and operation duties.
Mauline is a trained Accountant and has experience working as an accounts administrative assistant at various previous employments.
At CAL, Lucy is responsible for project development and planning, assembling and leading project team, budgeting, quality and satisfaction, managing issues and risks, monitoring progress, reporting and documentation.
Lucy has over 7-years’ experience in E-commerce while keenly undertaking different projects within Business Development in order to grow and scale. Within the same tenure Lucy was able to recruit, train and develop a dynamic team. She is versed with last mile delivery, project development, scaling a project from incubation to maturity and strategic management as a whole.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management and is completing her MBA in Strategic Management at the United States International University.
At Cherami, Xu LingJu (Mark) is a 5G Consultant with diverse experience working at the leading Network Providers in Guangzhou China.
Mark has a Degree in International Trade and Economics from Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai campus.
Independent Advisory Team
The staff are also supported by a team of Investment Advisors experienced in healthcare, Capital Markets, Technology, Telecommunications, Agribusiness, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, Exportation of commodities etc.
Anthony is a successful entrepreneur with investments across ICT, media & entertainment, agriculture, transport, real estate development, retail and hospitality. He currently serves as a non-executive Director in various Companies locally and internationally. He brings on board a decade of experience in management of the Kenya Bus Services and more decades in business and strategy developments for various organizations. In ICT, he has been on the front line of investing and developing wi-max networks for public data networks services and internet service provision nationally.
As an accomplished economist and strategist, Anthony is exceptional in business development; contract and deal creation, strategic partnership negotiation, market development and growth and leadership.
Alongside managing various interests, Anthony has worked closely with a number of local and international companies, including the Africa Venture Capital Partners Ltd, Capital Funds of Uganda, Squid Card UK Ltd, the National Cooperative Housing Union and CIC Insurance. He has also invested in the fintech industry, providing much needed financial deepening via mobile and online access.
Anthony holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics from the University of Warwick.
Mumo is an extensively experienced architect and serves as Managing Director of PLANNING Systems Services Ltd and a founding director of PLANNING Project Management Ltd, Project and Construction Monitoring and Management arm of the PLANNING Group of companies. Mumo is a trustee of PLANNING’s impactful award-winning corporate responsibility foundation, the Community Cooker Foundation.
Mumo’s career at PLANNING has focused on building design, urban regeneration and sustainable development. Mumo has broad experience of project types and scale including hospitality, commercial retail, high rise buildings and office buildings, large scale mixed-use masterplans as well as project structuring in conjunction with client teams. He manages PLANNING’s portfolio of projects in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. Mumo is currently leading the project structuring team for the pilot phase of the Nairobi Rivers Regeneration Project and the Uaso Nyarobe Waterfront development.
He holds a First-Class Honors in Architecture from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Architectural Association of Kenya, Uganda Society of Architects and Rwanda Institute of Architects.
FCPA Muema is the Founder and Managing Partner at Andersen Tax, Kenya. Andersen Tax in Kenya (formerly Nexus Business Advisory Limited). He is also the Managing Partner of Andersen East Africa following the entry of Andersen Global in the East African market in October 2017. Philip has over 20 years of experience in tax advisory, commercial strategy and structuring, right from advising businesses and investors on purchase agreements, to setting up operations across East Africa for tax efficient and commercially viable resource exploitation.
Muema serves as the Chairperson of the Public Finance and Tax Committee at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and a member of ICPAK’s Public Policy and Governance Committee. He has Institute engagements with the National Treasury, the KRA and other stakeholders on key tax issues. He has engaged with the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade with regards to the Finance Act, 2016, Finance Act, 2017, VAT Act, 2013 & the Tax Procedures Act, 2015.
Muema is a graduate of the Advanced Management program at IESE business School & Strathmore Business School, a holder of Masters of Business in Administration from USIU, B.Sc. Finance (USIU) and is a fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
